Rose: Yes, it is a good opportunity for teachers. In many urban centers like St. Louis, there is a shortage of principals.

Jaimie: That's too bad about the leadership at your school. You've already talked about teacher morale? How is the situation affecting students?

If parents are unhappy, they have the right to take it up with the superintendent and school board. If you have good leadership at the central office level, hopefully this situation can get rectified. If it doesn't, my guess is that teachers will be looking for work in other schools or leaving the district altogether.

Jaimie, have you thought of pursuing a leadership program like this one? Being a principal certainly is challenging. You have to have good management skills, good people skills, and be willing to walk on water every day. That's in addition for being responsible for instruction.

So, Jaimie, when are you going to apply? You'd make a great candidate!
