Violence and veiled sexual references in many animated films

Are G-rated movies going to far?

Disney's new film, "Chicken Little," is loaded with pop culture references -- some of which are meant for adults. This movie isn't the only one. Violence and subtle sexual content are creeping into the seemingly innocent cartoon landscape, giving parents reason to do some homework of their own. More from CNN.

As parents we owe it to our children to do our homework, to the best of our ability
To insure that they are being educated and entertained with images that are healthy. Otherwise we risk them being programed and misinformed with unhealthy input. Sometimes on a subliminal level.
Negative input leads to negative output. We want to give our kids a chance to be their best...

All these things make me scared to have kids. You want to protect them but not shelter them. That line is so fine to walk.

Parents need to band together and stop this mess. Afterall, we are the ones that gives our children the money to purchase or see this stuff.

It's been a downward spiral for a long time and it will continue. I can't believe some of the dances that I see 5 year old girls doing. It's sickening. Movies and movies have gotten out of hand... so sad

Brea, you are right about walking that fine line. However, to me, being a mom is worth it.

Rose and James, yes, you are absolutely right.

Jaimie, give us your review after you've seen the movie!

Jaimie, thanks for the review. I'd like to see this movie myself. I burst out laughing when you said the chicken sounded like a 33-year old man! So the movies makes some reference to aliens? Hmmm. I may look into this further.
